And The Award Goes To...

31/8/2016

This summer was prosperous for The Party, as Black The Fall was recognized by our international comrades as being one of the best indie games. We are yet to organize a parade  to celebrate the occasion in the genuine communist style. But in  the meantime, we'd like to take the time to hug every team member who's dedicated each day in the past months/years to this project: Cristi + Nico, Razvan + Licu, Andreea + Marius and Andrei+. And also thank all the organizations who recognized our creative efforts by nominating or awarding us: BIG Festival, Gamescom, Spawn and BIC Festival.

The Party feels awkwardly humble, grateful, hopeful and proud at the same time. And here is a token of appreciation (souvenir from BIC Festival) to always remind us of these mixed feelings.

Thank YOU for playing!

Gamescom 2016 Was MASSIVE

31/8/2016

Just as anticipated, Gamescom 2016 was like a homecoming, but on a huge level. In 2015 we had one impressive independent booth, showcasing Black The Fall for the first time to a large audience. One year later, we joined the party with our friends, showcasing within:
  • the Indie Arena booth , next to the lovely team developing FAR. We were actually both nominated for Best Indie Award at Gamescom 2016. Yaaay!
  • the Square Enix Collective booth, next to the Oh-My-God-Fun Titutitech guys.
  • the RGDA booth with our brothers in arms at Scorpius and Angry Mob Games.
Needless to mention the madness of settings things up to every detail, which would have been unbearable without the help of the booth organizers to whom we can't stop thanking... Thank you! See? Can't stop it.

On top of this, is the player connection. From 12 yo to 50+ yo, there were roughly 1200+ players who simply loved the puzzles and enjoyed the atmosphere. We were quite used to having friends or couples come and play together, taking turns in handling the controller and untangling together the dark puzzles. But what we absolutely loved witnessing, was parents playing alongside their kids. Mom and Dad, would pay attention to every new scene and they'd subtly guide the young adventurers when they'd get stuck.

As with every event, we gathered the valuable player feedback and we're working on implementing it, during our last polishing stage. All men must work, as The Party says.

The fun wouldn't have been complete without a raffle, so here are the ten winners of a Black The Fall Steam key (for Windows), which gives access to a demo, but once we launch the game, it will upgrade to the full version.

Finally, if we missed you in Germany, see you in the following weeks at BIC Festival in Busan and at Tokyo Game Show in Chiba?

See you next week  in Cologne!

Events are all fun and games, literally. We always get physically tired, and emotionally filled up with energy and ideas, once we meet the brilliant developers and the amazing players. This is why we try not to miss a chance when it comes to getting to know more of you and show more of us.

At Gamescom 2016, you can't miss us. I mean, you could try, but you'd fail, as we are present in three locations. If you feel like testing your brain on some communist inspired puzzles and get that sweet feeling of outsmarting the System, then do visit us at:

1.   Indie Arena Booth (Hall 10.1, Booth A-020, B-021). As usual here you'll find a huge crowd of like-minded people, always eager to try out what's new on the indie scene.

2. Square Enix booth (Hall 9, Booth B31-41). Impressive line-up alert! Just saying, you should be ready for some  much anticipated games.

3. RGDA booth (Hall 10.1, Booth C-030). Find here the bravest members of the Romanian Game Design Association showcasing their games: Scorpius, Angry Mob and Amber.

So, see you at Gamescom next week?
