Just as anticipated, Gamescom 2016 was like a homecoming, but on a huge level. In 2015 we had one impressive independent booth, showcasing Black The Fall for the first time to a large audience. One year later, we joined the party with our friends, showcasing within:
On top of this, is the player connection. From 12 yo to 50+ yo, there were roughly 1200+ players who simply loved the puzzles and enjoyed the atmosphere. We were quite used to having friends or couples come and play together, taking turns in handling the controller and untangling together the dark puzzles. But what we absolutely loved witnessing, was parents playing alongside their kids. Mom and Dad, would pay attention to every new scene and they'd subtly guide the young adventurers when they'd get stuck.
As with every event, we gathered the valuable player feedback and we're working on implementing it, during our last polishing stage. All men must work, as The Party says.
The fun wouldn't have been complete without a raffle, so here are the ten winners of a Black The Fall Steam key (for Windows), which gives access to a demo, but once we launch the game, it will upgrade to the full version.
Finally, if we missed you in Germany, see you in the following weeks at BIC Festival in Busan and at Tokyo Game Show in Chiba?
- the Indie Arena booth , next to the lovely team developing FAR. We were actually both nominated for Best Indie Award at Gamescom 2016. Yaaay!
- the Square Enix Collective booth, next to the Oh-My-God-Fun Titutitech guys.
- the RGDA booth with our brothers in arms at Scorpius and Angry Mob Games.
